Technical Artist, Creative Technologist
& Systems Engineer
Ben Czech
Technology is at its most creative when it creates moments of pure, childlike wonder. As the co-founder of Czech Studios, Ben bridges the worlds of code, hardware, optics, and interactive spectacle.

Designing systems from the ground up—from embedded microcontrollers and custom Python software to large-scale projection mapping—Ben transforms passive observers into active participants. His work turns physical architecture, museum galleries, and festival grounds into responsive, living environments.
Core Technical Disciplines & Capabilities
-
Creative Coding & Systems: Python, custom UI/UX development, algorithmic animation, and real-time visual processing.

-
Physical Computing & Hardware: Arduino, ESP32, capacitive sensing, wireless mesh networking (RF/Wi-Fi), and custom electronics fabrication.

-
Spatial Media & Optics: Architectural facade mapping, multi-projector alignment, surface calibration, and dynamic lighting design.

-
Technical Instruction: Curriculum development and hands-on workshops covering projection mapping basics, creative coding, and responsive installation design.

Featured Works & Current Projects
Interactive Projection Mapping Lab
Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art | Tarpon Springs, FL

Architected and deployed a custom software program and intuitive touch UI that allows museum visitors of all ages to control and experiment with live projection mapping in real time. Following the installation's debut, Ben developed and facilitated an introductory projection mapping masterclass, demystifying the technical workflow for emerging digital artists. He is currently expanding the installation with secondary sensory inputs and layered visual physics.
Architectural Projection Mapping
Tarpon Springs Cultural Center | "Snow Place Like Tarpon Springs"

Engineered a site-specific, large-scale architectural projection mapping showcase onto the historic Tarpon Springs Cultural Arts Building. The production transformed the neoclassical facade into dynamic, animated seasonal environments aligned precisely to the building's columns, pediments, and architectural geometry.
The Interactive Sonic Rock Garden
Collaborative Installation with The Awetists

A multi-sensory interactive soundscape where natural forms become musical instruments. Designed with custom capacitive-touch sensors and embedded Arduino microcontrollers, participants can drum on illuminated mushrooms, tap responsive crystal clusters, and touch live foliage to trigger spatialized musical notes and ambient harmonies.
Color-Caster Interactive Magic Wands
Hardware & Firmware Development

Custom-fabricated handheld controllers featuring embedded wireless transceivers and motion sensors. As users cast gestures and interact with the physical environment, the wands transmit real-time data to synchronize and spread color shifts across nearby light-up set pieces, crystals, and spatial installations.
Illuminated Stage & Set Architecture
Lunarcrats Installation | Love Burn

Designed, programmed, and fabricated custom illuminated structural set pieces, incorporating addressable dynamic LED arrays and ambient lighting control designed to withstand outdoor environmental conditions while creating immersive nighttime gathering spaces.
