Grounded and Safe is a quiet, contemplative counterpart to my painting, "Rising From Below". While the previous piece was about emergence, this artwork explores the deep, essential need for sanctuary and protection during moments of vulnerability.
This piece represents the comforting embrace of solitude. Beneath a heavy, textured mantle of monochrome stones, a cluster of vibrant, colorful pebbles lies hidden and secure. These colors (symbolizing the true self, the inner light) are not rising; they are resting. They are safely buried beneath layers of shimmering, grounding stones, allowing them to remain shielded from external demands.
Created as grounding art to manage anxiety and panic, this piece is an intentional reminder that it is valid and sometimes necessary to recede, to ground oneself deeply, and to be safely hidden until the time is right to re-emerge.
