We are all mortal gods.
We exist as frail humans, with bodies that get sick under stress and break under pressure. If our bodies are not within the right temperature range, they begin to shut down and die. If we are not properly nourished, we cannot function properly, we begin to think in a hazy fog and act out of need and fear. If we do not receive love and support, we grow cynical and fearful of those around us and act through that fear in isolation. We make mistakes. To err is human.

Yet, we hold the power of creation within ourselves. We have the power of creative thinking, of changing the world around us, of creating tools to make our lives easier, better, more prosperous, of creating life not just within our own biological bodies, but outside of ourselves too. We can think up an object in our minds, design it on a computer which runs on magical lightning filled rocks, and print a 3D physical copy to hold a usable object in our hands.
We hold the power of destruction within ourselves. We have the power to manipulate people’s thoughts and actions and understand that to such a degree that it has been used against the masses to enrich some pockets while tearing down the mental health of all. We have the power to end life with little understanding required, and a single motion of a trigger finger. We have the power to end life on a massive scale and threaten to do so by the very existence of the nukes around the world and the missiles which fly on a regular basis.

We are gods. We have the power of creation and destruction within us whether we want to acknowledge it or not. We are Haphaestus at his forge and we are gods, forged within the fires and released upon the world.
We can continue to ignore the power we wield in our fragile hands and hearts, or we can choose to step into the light and accept the power within us. I choose to step forward. What will you choose?
